June was one of those months that reminded us why we do what we do. Between dreaming up new collections, shooting in beautiful places and welcoming new arrivals into Katharina Land, here's everything that happened behind the scenes.
Our new collection, LA CHICA was in full swing prep mode this month. Before being shared with the world this week.
Creating a collection is never just about designing clothes, it's about creating a feeling.
For LA CHICA, we started by building mood boards inspired by European summers, vintage travel photography and bold Mediterranean colour palettes. From there, Katharina refined each silhouette, fit and style through multiple rounds of sampling.
Finally, the collection was shot in Spain, where the landscapes that inspired LA CHICA's aesthetic became the backdrop for the campaign itself. Resulting in a full-circle vision moment.
From Spain to Sydney, we spent the day photographing LA CHICA to pieces with Oriana. She helped bring our newest arrivals to life in front of the camera, capturing the fit, movement and little details you'll see when shopping on the website. It's one of the last steps before a collection lands—and always one of our favourite days of the month <3 How cute it this line up...
June was the month of a very special KLOU release: The Ruffle Bag. Designed with so much personality, she deserves her own seat at the table.
To celebrate, we created a little KLOU-coded film shoot to bring her to life. The vibe was: morning pastries, coffee & cards plus plenty of ruffles. And Ard Bakery, Stanmore did NOT disappoint. The girls spent the morning there, capturing the bag exactly how she was meant to be seen—tagging along all the sweetest parts of every day.
Because (as you well know already) at KLOU, even your bag should be the main character.
Behind every special release are months of designing, planning and sampling. It's our team's favourite part of the process – watching each concept slowly come to life and transform into the colourful, personality-filled KLOU pieces.
